WRAG has been a founder and active member of the Muslim Women’s Rights Network since 1999. In the year 2006, WRAG felt the need to create a platform where women could feel free to air their concerns and take active steps to ameliorate their conditions. Many organizations also expressed that it is important to talk of reforms in personal laws and in the process, to be inclusive of the rights bestowed on Muslim women by the religious scriptures. Along with law reform other concerns of the community like education, employment, security also had to be addressed. Hence like-minded individuals came together to formulate the vision and objectives of a new initiative. This new network is a called Bhartiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA) and WRAG staff are active members in the same.
